The brown ”Sniff”moomin mug was in production in 2002-2008.

This mug was the first ordinary character mug to be taken out of production. Therefore, it is the most valuable and the rarest of the character mugs.

It is quite usual that even the top-quality brown ”Sniff” mugs with a label have white spots under their glaze coating due to a production fault. Therefore, a flawless brown ”Sniff” mug is especially valuable. This mug has been manufactured with different labels (”Made in Finland” and ”Other”). There is a crown stamp on the bottom.

Manufacturing of Moomin mugs

The material of Moomin mugs is porcelain.

Arabia used to manufacture Moomin mugs in Finland until 2016. Currently, the mugs are produced in Thailand, where production began before 2016.
