Moominhouse mug was released in 2015 to celebrate the Moomins’ 70th anniversary, and originally came with a fun red cardboard Moominhouse roof. The versions with the “MOOMIN 75” gold stamp are rare and sought after. The mug is designed in Finland, made in Thailand, and uses the newer “By Arabia” base mark. Its friendly price makes it great for everyday use.
Moominhouse has become a beloved symbol of the Moomins’ friendship, openness, and community—a home where everyone is welcome just as they are. The Moominhouse mug remains in Arabia’s continuous production.

Released in 2015, the Moominhouse mug is unusually detailed and atmospheric. Arabia’s decorator Tove Slotte first prepared two versions; the three-storey version went into production, and her idea of adding the cardboard roof was adopted. The artwork features many familiar faces—Stinky, Fillyjonk, Snufkin, Moominpappa, Sniff, Hemulen-aunt, Little My, and Moominmamma greeting on the terrace—and draws from comic strips #2 Moomin and Family Life, #10 Moomin Valley Turns Jungle, #13 Club Life in Moomin Valley, and #18 Moomin and the Golden Tail.
