Green Constable Moomin mug was in production 2009–2020. It’s the only 3 dl mug depicting the Constable, yet its value isn’t very high—likely because the character is less popular than many other residents of Moominvalley. A matching bowl existed, but it left production in 2015, probably due to low demand.
The mug was made with two different labels, and the rarer versions with the “MOOMIN 75” gold backstamp are collector favourites. Because of the light colour, tiny factory flaws (like black dots) show clearly, so Finmug inspects these especially carefully and only some reach Supergood condition.

The mug’s artwork is based on Tove and Lars Jansson’s Moomin comics #16 “Moomin and the Sense of Duty” and #21 “Muddler’s Courtship.” As a member of the Hemulen family, the Constable is shown tending flowers on the mug—quite natural for hemulens, who are known to love gardening. Although the Constable isn’t the best-known character in Moominvalley, he’s an important part of the community, maintaining order with calm authority.

  • Just fine: in good condition, the glaze may have traces of use
  • Well used: really used or clearly 2-quality

  • Finland: The label says Made in Finland⭐
  • Thailand: The label says Designed in Finland. Made in Thailand.
