The Sliding mug (0.3 L) is the winter season mug for 2023.

Arabia’s winter season brings crisp winds and the joy of snow, and the 2023 winter season mug Sliding is no exception. In the mug’s illustration we see Moominpappa, Moomintroll, and many other beloved characters sledding—plus a few surprising faces. Edward the Booble appears on a Moomin mug for the first time, joining the Moominvalley crowd in a lively downhill run. The mug also features Samu, who resembles Sniff.

This winter adventure is complemented by a bowl designed by Tove Slotte, which belongs to the same Sliding tableware series. It’s a reminder of the joy of snowy days and the magical moments of wintry Moominvalley.

Drawing on Tove Jansson’s iconic 1955 comic “Dangerous Winter”—which also inspired last year’s winter season mug “Winter Wonders”—the Sliding mug dives deeper into Moominvalley’s enchanting winter world, capturing the Moomins’ snowy adventures in soft pastel tones.

Moominvalley’s sledding competition is in full swing! Mr. Brisk, famed for his athletic prowess, arrives in Moominvalley once again. Although the Mymble wins the ski race, Mr. Brisk is given a chance to claim victory in the next event—until Stinky turns things upside down and reveals the truth to him. As a result, the Sliding contest takes an unexpected twist when the slope collapses under Edward the Booble, and the competition shifts on the fly from sledding to ice skating.
