Skiing Competition Moomin mug is the 2010 winter seasonal release, issued unusually without companion items like a bowl or spoons. Finding a good stickered example is hard: labels were often weak, and the light background makes tiny factory flaws easy to spot. The mug isn’t especially valuable yet compared to early-2000s seasonals, but its value is expected to rise. Skiing Competition belongs to the same line as the 2010–2014 winter mugs.
With the classic crown backstamp, it was designed in Finland; the label does not state the country of manufacture. A charming choice for any collection—especially if you like restrained colours and timeless Moomin storytelling!

The artwork is based on Tove Jansson’s comic Dangerous Winter, showing Moomintroll and Stinky meeting during a forest ski race. Arabia’s designer Tove Slotte brought the original black-and-white drawings to life with a fresh winter palette. The Skiing Competition mug was sold in Iittala’s own stores in a stylish gift box, while other retailers sold it without the box.
