The Moomin mug "Moomin Day 2024", also known as "Spring", is part of the seasonal Moomin Day series, which previously includes the summer 2018 and winter 2021 mugs. This mug's production batch was also very limited and it sold out in Finland on the first day of sales, August 9, 2024.
According to Finmug's experience, most of the new and labeled mugs from Arabia are flawless and deserve the condition rating "Supergood". However, about every third mug (new, first-quality) has factory defects, which we categorize as "Just fine".

Spring Celebration in Moominvalley

The mug’s illustration is inspired by the first signs of spring in Moominvalley. The central event of the Spring mug is Snufkin’s anticipated return from his winter adventures, symbolizing the arrival of spring in Moominvalley. On one side of the mug, Snufkin enters the valley, while on the other side Moomintroll and Snorkmaiden admire the awakening spring nature: the snow has melted and the first daffodils and tulips are blooming.

The illustration, designed by Tove Slotte, draws from Tove Jansson’s comics and books, including Dangerous Winter and Moominland Midwinter, to create a mug that reflects the beauty and renewal of spring. The launch of the mug on 9 August 2024 celebrates Tove Jansson’s birthday. The mug with label comes with a beautiful gift box, highlighting its collectable value and making it an ideal gift for Moomin fans.

Without Label

  • Super good: unused, no flaws in the glaze
  • Just fine: in good condition, the glaze may have traces of use
  • Well used: really used or clearly 2-quality

  • Fin/Thai: The label says Iittala Group / Arabia.fi / product name
  • Finland: The label says Made in Finland⭐
  • Thailand: The label says Designed in Finland. Made in Thailand.
  • Thailand (Gold/Red/Green): 2017-2021 summer season mugs have also color options
  • Thailand (Package): Includes the mug’s original storage box.
