Journey Finnair-100 Moomin mug (0.3L) is one of the special mugs of 2023.

In 2023, Finnair, one of the world's oldest airlines, celebrated its 100-year journey. Finnair, as well as Finmug, are Finnish companies. For this significant celebration, Finnair and Arabia together created the "Journey" Moomin mug. This special mug was launched on 9.10.2023 and was available in limited quantities only in certain selected stores. Many also know the mug by the name Finnair Moomin mug.

Each labeled mug is packed in a unique packaging that emphasizes the beauty of the mug's illustration. Unfortunately, the box for the Finnair mug is of slightly poor quality, causing the blue color of the package to particularly adhere to the bottom of the mug. The color can be removed by wiping with a finger or an eraser. The box is similar (with a different pattern) to the Sea Breeze Moomin mug, but it's not as strong and high-quality as the Moomin Day mugs from 2018 and 2021.


The price of the Journey mug increased immediately after its release because the release batch was very limited (Arabia doesn't disclose exact release quantities). The mug sold out from the moominarabia website in just a few minutes, and it wasn't available at Stockmann or the airport for long either.

The "Journey" Moomin mug for Finnair's centennial year is the first joint project of the Arabia design team and a new illustrator, Parvati Pillai. The mug stands out with its dark color scheme and adventurous design. On the mug, we see Moominpappa and his friends traveling through a mysterious garden towards the Emperor's celebrations. Additionally, a captivating hot air balloon pattern, referring to Jansson's original book cover, is drawn inside the mug. The "Journey" mug has the traditional Moomin Arabia stamp engraved on it and is available in a 0.3-liter size.
