The Home Moomin mug is part of Arabia’s 80-year Moomin anniversary celebration.

Only 8000 pieces of the Home mug have been produced. Each mug is hand-painted and individually numbered. When selecting the "Thailand (Package)" option, the mug is delivered with its original packaging.
The mugs do not include separate labels, but Arabia has confirmed that all mugs were produced and hand-painted in Thailand. The bottom of each mug features a special MOOMIN 80 stamp, the individual mug number (1–8000), and the painter’s initials.

Finmug will occasionally offer mugs for sale when lucky winners decide to sell their mugs to us. The Home mug is Arabia’s first hand-painted Moomin mug, and due to its limited availability and uniqueness, its value is expected to significantly increase over time.

Home, that is, the Moominhouse, which is always open. It is the central part of the MOOMIN 80 theme, and this mug is its centerpiece. The Home Moomin Mug tells the story of the Moomins’ very first adventure, The Moomins and the Great Flood, in which Moominpappa has long been missing. In the story, a great flood sweeps everything away, forcing Moomintroll and Moominmamma to leave their home behind. On their journey, they encounter other creatures who have also lost their homes, and with their help the Moomin family is finally reunited. When the waters recede, the Moomins discover a lush, blossoming valley, more beautiful than any place they have ever seen. In the middle of this valley rises the Moominhouse – its doors always open to everyone.

The first two numbered copies of the Home Mug have already been given to special recipients. Mug number one was presented to the First Lady of Finland, Suzanne Innes-Stubb, and the second mug to Tove Jansson’s niece, Sophia Jansson. The value of these mugs would surely be extraordinary if they ever came up for sale!

  • Just fine: New, a small flaw on the label and/or in the glaze (Arabia: 1-quality. Finmug found a flaw)
    ❗ For non-mug items: Just fine = Standard, new, first-quality item from Arabia; not inspected by Finmug.

Without Label

  • Super good: unused, no flaws in the glaze
  • Just fine: in good condition, the glaze may have traces of use
  • Well used: really used or clearly 2-quality

Label options

  • Fin/Thai: The label says Iittala Group / Arabia.fi / product name
  • Finland: The label says Made in Finland⭐
  • Thailand: The label says Designed in Finland. Made in Thailand.
  • Thailand (Gold/Red/Green): 2017-2021 summer season mugs have also color options
  • Thailand (Package): Includes the mug’s original storage box.
