Evening Swim Moomin mug is Arabia’s 2019 summer season mug, whose popularity quickly drove up its value. The same series also includes a summery plate. Designed in Finland and manufactured in Thailand, these mugs have—besides the base backstamp—a year stamp typical of newer summer season mugs. Because the background is light and solid, possible factory flaws are easy to notice, so Finmug inspects the mugs especially carefully before sale.
The popularity of Evening Swim surprised many: it sold out quickly right after release. This has increased its value among collectors, and prices are expected to keep rising. This charmingly coloured mug is an ideal addition to a Moomin collection and a lovely choice for summer coffee or tea moments.

The Evening Swim mug appeared in 2019 as part of Arabia’s popular six-mug summer series, begun the previous year with Going on Vacation. Its atmospheric artwork is based on Tove Jansson’s comic strip “Moomin’s Desert Island” (1955), originally published in the British Evening News newspaper. Illustrator Tove Slotte has skilfully combined the panels into a scene where the Moomin family enjoys a peaceful summer evening and a refreshing swim, beautifully capturing warm sunset tones and Moominvalley’s unhurried mood.
