Dive Moomin mug (0.3L) is the 2006 summer seasonal mug.

In 2006, Arabia added a historic piece to the Moomin mug line when the first summer seasonal mug, Dive, was launched. It kicked off the yearly summer seasonal tradition and is also one of the first six beloved “striped” mugs (2006–2011).

As a curiosity, Arabia made a special version with corals and shells, known as “Dive with Shells”. It never went into official sales. Although the shell version was dropped, a small batch had already been produced; these were distributed to Arabia’s factory staff and are believed to be extremely rare—only around a dozen exist. The 2006 seasonal runs were much smaller than later years, which makes Dive—especially with its label—highly sought after by collectors.

For this mug, Tove Slotte selected artwork directly from Tove Jansson’s comic Moomin’s Winter Follies, showing Moomintroll taking a dive. The palette of blue, light blue and green brings out a watery, seaside feel.
