Winter Wonders is Arabia’s winter season mug for 2022, and the same series also includes a bowl.
It is Arabia’s 17th winter season mug, designed in Finland and manufactured in Thailand. Although the mug has recently been discontinued, its value has not yet increased significantly. It remained relatively widely available in shops even after production ended. Nevertheless, the value of seasonal mugs generally tends to rise over time due to their limited availability.
Because of its light, pastel-toned base, factory flaws such as small black dots are easy to notice, which can make a completely flawless mug hard to find.

The illustration on Winter Wonders is based on Tove Jansson’s 1955 comic “Dangerous Winter.” In the artwork, Moomintroll, Moominpappa, Moominmamma and Snorkmaiden are hesitantly trying out ice skating, while on the other side Mr. Brisk tries to convince the Mymble of the health benefits of ice swimming. Mr. Brisk, a multi-talented sportsman, has come to Moominvalley to teach the secrets of winter sports, though not everyone is fully convinced by his ideas.

In addition, Mr. Brisk has appeared only rarely on Arabia’s Moomin tableware—the previous time was in 2014 on his own namesake mug—which may increase this mug’s desirability among collectors over time.
