Winter Games Moomin mug is the 2011 winter seasonal mug, whose appreciation has grown over the years. Among collectors it’s considered relatively valuable thanks to its legendary artwork and age. The sticker adhesive used was unusually weak, so finding a stickered Snow Games mug that’s perfectly intact and untorn is very difficult. The same series also included, for the first time, a set of four mini mugs and a bowl. The base carries Arabia’s classic crown backstamp; the label does not state the country of manufacture.
Because of the light background, any factory flaws are easy to see, so in Finmug’s inspection this mug seldom reaches Supergood. Even so, seasonal mugs generally rise in value over time, making the Snow Games mug a great investment or a splendid addition to any Moomin collection.

The artwork for the Winter Games mug draws inspiration from Tove Jansson’s comic Dangerous Winter, which Tove Slotte has skilfully composed into a unified scene. Moomintroll and Snorkmaiden enjoy the joys of winter, and the mug continues the wintry theme begun by the Skiing Competition mug. To accompany this release, Arabia issued mini mugs for the first time; sold in packs of four, they quickly became popular with Moomin collectors and are often used as Christmas decorations.
