Snorkmaiden Purple Moomin mug is part of Arabia’s ongoing production and is the third character mug dedicated to Snorkmaiden. The same series also includes a bowl and a plate. Particularly sought after are the rare versions with the “MOOMIN 75” gold backstamp. The mugs are designed in Finland, and the “Thailand” label indicates production in Thailand.
Because the base colour is a solid, light lilac, even small factory flaws—such as black dots—are easy to see. For this reason, finding flawless pieces in the Supergood category can be challenging. Price-wise the mug is affordable, making it an excellent choice for everyday use, e.g., as a coffee mug.

Snorkmaiden Purple was released in spring 2020 and replaced the pink Snorkmaiden mug that had been in production since 2013. Before that, a yellow Snorkmaiden mug had been available since 2001. The newer purple mug takes its charming artwork from Tove Jansson’s popular 1955 comic “Moomin on the Riviera.”

The mug shows Snorkmaiden in two scenes: on the front, she sits at a mirror getting ready; on the other side, she admires herself in a mirror in a bikini. Known for her vanity and captivating charm, Snorkmaiden makes this mug both playful and stylish in any Moomin collection.
