Arabia’s Moomin Mug Simple Joys is a 0.3-litre Moomin mug that was released on the Japanese market in April 2026. Since the mug is sold on the Japanese market, it is often referred to by its English name Simple Joys. However, the mug’s label also includes the Finnish name Pienet ilonaiheet (Simple Joys).

There was some initial confusion around the Simple Joys mug, as the third mug from the Japanese theme park was first thought to be called Simple Joy. This was because the Simple Joys mug has the same illustration as the Moominvalley Park Japan 2026 mug released earlier in 2026, and the announcement for the Japan Park 3 mug mentioned the name Simple Joy.

The mug was designed in Finland and made in Thailand, as stated on the label. The base has the regular Moomin Arabia base stamp, which sets it apart from the special stamp on the Moominvalley Park version. The Simple Joy mug does not come with a gift box.

The illustration has been influenced by four different Moomin comics. The fishing scene in the foreground, where Moomintroll and Snufkin are together by the water, is based on the comic Moomintroll and the Golden Tail. Other stories that influenced the illustration are Building a House, Moomin Begins a New Life and Moomintroll Falls in Love. The colour palette is, however, different from the theme park version, and for example the orange-tinted background of the earlier version has been changed to a more turquoise shade.

As its name suggests, Simple Joy is built around the small joyful moments of everyday life. The mug shows characters from Moominvalley enjoying activities that are dear to them. In addition to Moomintroll and Snufkin, the illustration also features Moominmamma watering flowers and Moominpappa hanging a hammock on a tree trunk. The overall design makes the mug a light, cheerful and approachable part of the 2026 Japan releases.
