The Muddler Moomin mug was in production in 2010–2019.
This character mug represents a unique figure in Moominvalley: the Muddler is Sniff’s father and Fuzzy’s (Sosuli’s) partner. Although it never became hugely popular, collectors include it in their sets—especially since no other mug version of the Muddler exists. Arabia usually retires a mug together with its matching bowl, but both the Muddler and the Police Inspector bowls were discontinued already in 2015, while the mugs remained in production.

The artwork is based on Tove and Lars Jansson’s comic “The Muddler’s Proposal,” and the front image comes from a rare die-cut sticker sheet designed by Tove Jansson in 1969. In adapting the imagery (for example details on the pot), Tove Slotte kept the original character faithfully in focus.

  • Just fine: in good condition, the glaze may have traces of use
  • Well used: really used or clearly 2-quality

  • Fin/Thai: The label says Iittala Group / Arabia.fi / product name
  • Finland: The label says Made in Finland⭐
  • Thailand: The label says Designed in Finland. Made in Thailand.
  • Thailand (Gold/Red/Green): 2017-2021 summer season mugs have also color options
