Moomintroll on Ice Moomin mug was in production in 1999–2012.

The Moomintroll on Ice mug is a special part of the collection. Few Moomin mugs go back to the 1990s, and this blue Moomintroll mug is one of those rarities. Its uniqueness is further highlighted by the fact that only mugs produced in 1999 have a year mark 1999 on the base alongside the crown stamp. These year-marked pieces are especially sought after by collectors.

Although the mug’s name is “Moomintroll on Ice”, the label simply says “Moomintroll – Blue”. The artwork gives the mug its name, showing Moomintroll from front and back as he examines a frozen pond. Because the mug is already quite old, examples with labels are rare. Made in Finland label variants are extremely rare and valuable.

In 2013 this beloved mug was followed by the turquoise Moomintroll, and later the green Moomintroll. Although this Blue version is discontinued, you can still find it at Finmug in various label and condition variants.
There is also a 0.4 L version of the On Ice mug.
