he rare and valuable Moomintroll Daydreaming mug was released in 2005 for the Arabia museum’s Moomin exhibition. Only 2005 individually numbered mugs were produced and sold in a cardboard box bearing the original Arabia logo. The bottom of each mug features a special text stamp: “Muumipeikko Unelmoi • Mumintrollet Dagdrömmer • Moomintroll Daydreaming • 2005”. A matching plate was also released, and both items were made in Finland.
This mug is the second rarest and most valuable Teema-style Moomin mug from Arabia – only surpassed by the Fazer mug (not counting the rare "Diving with Shells" mug).

The black-and-white, tranquil illustration comes from Tove Jansson’s novel Moominsummer Madness. The artwork was designed by Tove Slotte, who has shared that this mug is one of her absolute favorites due to its original style:

“Moomintroll Daydreaming is one of my favorites because of both the theme and the graphic, calm appearance. It was also the first mug without added color, so it feels very true to Tove Jansson’s original work.”

The artwork can easily be confused with the black-and-white Adventure mug, but collectors recognize the special edition stamp and the limited quantity. This mug is a prized treasure in any Moomin collection.
