Moomin’s Day Mug 2025 (0.3L) celebrates the 80th anniversary of the Moomins and features the “MOOMIN 80” anniversary stamp. This limited-edition collector's mug comes in a beautiful gift box and has a charming detail of Moominmamma and Moomintroll printed inside. Moomin’s Day mugs are released on Tove Jansson’s birthday and will not be reproduced, making this a valuable collectible item that will likely retain or even increase in value over time.

The Moomin’s Day 2025 mug is the fifth collector’s edition released to celebrate Moomin’s Day. The first mug came out in 2018, and new editions have appeared irregularly around August 9th, the official Moomin Day. Each mug is produced in limited quantities, and they have always been highly popular. Exact production numbers are not disclosed (except for Merituuli Platinum), increasing their appeal for collectors.

What makes the 2025 Moomin’s Day mug especially unique and interesting is its design: for the first time, the Moomin characters appear in their original early-book style with slimmer snouts and more streamlined features. Although their appearance differs from the more rounded versions fans are used to, their gentle nature and adventurous spirit remain just as charming. This special design adds fresh interest, even for long-time collectors.

The illustration of the Moomin’s Day mug is based on Tove Jansson’s very first Moomin book, The Moomins and the Great Flood, in which Moominmamma and Moomintroll search for the missing Moominpappa. On their journey, they are joined by Sniff and the blue-haired Tulip Girl, who appears for the first time on a Moomin mug. In the illustration, the friends rest for a moment in a sheltered and safe nest, carefully built by Moominmamma among mosses and ferns. This moment beautifully shows how everyone sometimes needs rest and safety before continuing their journey.
