Moomin Mug: Millennium (1999-2000)

Finmugs had an offer on The Millennium Mug, a mug that has always been my dream to have but Ive never been able to afford it. I was finally able to order one that was in the Just Fine category, which was fine by me because on those older mugs you have to accept some flaws, and Ive ordered Sniff Brown, Dive and countless mugs from that category and they have always been more than fine. Im very picky in what state the mugs are in that go into my collection....No bad copies of mugs go into my 10 Moomin glass cabinets I have in my livingroom!
This Millennium mug that I got....I gasped when I ran into the door at home to open the packege when it came just five days later!
IT IS FLAWLESS!!!
OMG, I litterally jumped for joy (holding the mug tightly not to drop it!)!! I am still lost for words!!! Its in incredible condition! Its actually in better condition than my NEW Holiday Rush Mug that just came out of the factory!
There is not one scratch...Not one spot...No chips anywhere....No dirt on the bottom of the mug and it really looks like its totally unused!!! The glazing on it is better than on any of my mugs really and I have around 160 mugs!
Thats because I dont collect The Alphabet Mugs (dont think they are collectibles...) but I do collect all the 0,4l mugs, and I only need Home, Sea Breeze P and a few 90s mugs yet to buy.
Im not counting Dive With Seashells, Fazer or Daydreaming...Thats above my lifetime salary!
Dont think Dive WS and The Alphabet Mugs should count as Moomin Mugs....Just like the Muurla mugs. Well, whatever :)
I am BEYOND thankful to Finmugs, what they do, what wide selection they have, the obvious dedication and hard work from the owner, the thorough information about each mug you can buy and more!! Is there any other site on the internet that inspects their mugs so well and categorize them, you can choose from with label or without, you can choose the stamp you want and everything??! That I have never seen anywhere else and I always go with the Crown stamp if possible :) You can even select from which country the mug is from!
Ofcourse I reccommend "The Star Label" which is Made In Finland, but there is a reason why its the biggest quality label among them and usually are more expensive. But its worth it!
Just an example...I made a huge mistake the other day, ordering Hemulen Lilac from another site (we could say another veeeery popular site among collectors....) because I had a Moomin accident many months ago, where a shelf broke down BROKE 46 of my Moomin babies, into thousands of pieces and my heart broke with them :( I was depressed for a month after! Not kidding.
Well, I got The Hemulen Mug, and we collectors know its kind of a special mug to us...At least to me. It should be flawless. With no spots or any imperfections, the glazing has to be exeptional and when you run your fingers over it, you can feel the pattern of the picture on the mug....This mug is not one of the cheapest mugs as we know. It was on sale, thats why I bought it, but it was still very expensive...4x,xx€...Ok, I know I bought a mug without label. And theres alot of risk in that, but in öthe description it was said that it was in very good condition.
It wasnt. It was like the sun had been shining on it for 10 years, the colors were light light light purple.....The glazing was almost all gone, there was a big spot on Hemulens back on the front of the mug and so on. I was soooo dissappointed. But I just ordered it because I was ordering another special mug for a friend from that site and I grabbed Hemulen with in the order. I already was going to order Hemulen from Finmugs, Made In Finland.
If I had done that in the first place, I would have KNOWN exactly what I would be getting. I would have chosen Supergood for this particular mug, from Finland, with a Crown stamp on the bottom, and I know I would be getting a flawless Hemulen Lilac with everything I wanted like the dark good colors and perfect glazing and no spots or scrathes.
That you can count on when you choose a Supergood mug from Finmugs, because believe me, I know how stricht they are for a mug to reach the Supergood category. If theres one tiny white spot on the mug you cant even see yourself, THEY see it and it doesnt reach Supergood.
That is REALLY how it works at Finmugs, because I know from experience!
Im so surprised that my precious Millennium Mug didnt reach Supergood. Its like NEW! But that just shows that they saw something I cant see no matter how I try hahaha!
