Hurray Moomin mug (0.3L) is a 2012 special edition.
Released when Helsinki was named World Design Capital, the mug has the regular crown backstamp. There’s no label on the mug itself; instead, a product hang-tag was tied to the handle — a quirk otherwise seen only on the Nightsailing mug. A matching Hurray coffee spoon was issued in 2012, and a plate followed in 2019 as part of the Collector’s Plates: 6/10 Hurray and Yellow set.

The illustration was created by Arabia designer Tove Slotte, based on Tove Jansson’s picture book Who Will Comfort Toffle?. It shows Moominvalley residents celebrating in a park, capturing the mood of Helsinki’s design-capital year. Because the mug was sold only in 2012, in limited availability and exclusively through official World Design Capital Helsinki partners, it is now a highly sought-after and esteemed collector’s piece.

  • Thailand: The label says Designed in Finland. Made in Thailand.
