Family Moomin mug was in production in 2002–2009 and 2011.

“Family” came to market in 2002 right after the single classic character mugs (1999–2001). It left production in 2009, but to collectors’ surprise a new batch was made in 2011 together with the Green Little My. The Family mug is becoming rare, especially pieces with a “Made in Finland” label. Later, the Family mug also appeared in the 0.4L size.

The Family Moomin mug features Moominpappa, Moominmamma, Moomintroll, Snorkmaiden, and Little My. The artwork combines elements from Tove and Lars Jansson’s works, including the comic strips Comet in Moominland and Moomin Begins a New Life, as well as Tove Jansson’s novel Moominland Midwinter. Lars Jansson’s rarer strip Moominpappa at the Gates of Old Age is also referenced. One notable change is that Moominmamma’s traditional flower garland is omitted, an intentional adjustment by Tove Slotte. The bright base colors—yellow, red, and blue—convey the warm, colorful feel of the Moomin family.

  • Finland: The label says Made in Finland⭐
  • Thailand: The label says Designed in Finland. Made in Thailand.
