Moomin Mug Dreams (0.3L) is a collaboration between Arabia and the Japanese fashion and lifestyle brand Beams Japan from 2025. This is one of Arabia’s Moomin mugs that was not available in the Nordics. The special mug is part of the limited Beams Japan x Moomin Arabia collection, which also includes a Moominmamma figurine and textiles. Every mug is hand-painted, so small charming variations in tone and illustration occur, making each piece unique. Dreams is the second hand-painted Moomin mug. Unlike the first hand-painted Home mug, the production quantity for this mug is not known.
Thailand (Package) The mug comes in a beautiful orange gift box in Beams Japan’s signature colour palette. The mug is microwave and dishwasher safe, though hand washing is recommended over time to preserve the unique hand-painted surface.

The artwork is inspired by Arabia’s first Moomin mugs from the 1950s, whose designs were based on Tove Jansson’s original drawings. On the front, Moomintroll sits on a pink cloud having emerged from the Hobgoblin’s Hat, and on the back Snorkmaiden echoes the classic 1950s Snorkmaiden mug. The illustrations have been subtly adapted to fit the Teema shape. On the base you will find the initials of the painter who hand-painted the mug and the text “for BEAMS Japan”. The Beams Japan x Moomin Arabia mug was initially available only via a lottery on Beams’ website from 28.8–5.9.2025, after which a limited number of purchase rights were raffled for the Tokyo and Yokohama Beams stores. The official release was on 22.9.2025, and it sold out almost immediately even with a one-per-customer limit. The exact production number has not been disclosed, making the mug particularly rare and highly sought after by collectors.
