Adventure Move Moomin mug has been a special release in production since 2013, and is often shortened by collectors to “Move.” It’s popular for everyday use thanks to its lower price compared with many collector mugs and belongs to a broad series that also includes a bowl, plate, spoons and storage jars. The pieces are designed in Finland and made in Thailand. You can find versions with both the classic Arabia crown backstamp and the newer “By Arabia” mark.

Judging by its long production run, the series has become a favourite among Moomin collectors thanks to its timeless, subdued colour palette.

Released in 2013 to replace the earlier “Adventure” mug, the illustration by Tove Slotte combines scenes from Tove and Lars Jansson’s comic “Moomin and the Comet” (#17). It shows Moominvalley residents awaiting the comet: some characters rush about, while Moomintroll sits calmly reading. The main colours are an elegant grey accented with red. The full Adventure Move range also includes a shallow plate, bowl, two lidded jars (different sizes), a pitcher and a cutlery set.

  • Finland: The label says Made in Finland⭐
  • Thailand: The label says Designed in Finland. Made in Thailand.
